[widgetkit id=”16″]

Grou is one of Fryslân’s most famous water sports villages. The village on the Pikmar is known as the starting place of the annual Skûtsjesilen. Grou has a cozy village center with a varied shopping center and a wide choice of cozy restaurants and many sights. The beautiful St. Peter’s Church is one of them. The 12th century gabled tower stands right in the center. Also on the list of national monuments is the former Council House on Station Road, a design by architect Kropholler. If you want more information about the various national monuments in Grou and other points of interest in the area, you are at the Museum Hert fan Fryslân to the right place, also located here is Tourist Info Grou.

On the road from Earnewâld to Grou you will also find the extraordinary Mineralogical Museum

Grou is beautifully central for water sports enthusiasts. Close to the watery National Park De Alde Feanen and across the water you are in no time in Earnewâld, Sneek and Terherne (Kameleondorp). You will first pass the cozy village of Jirnsum.
