Musical puppets on the streets of Earnewâld
Come to Earnewâld and meet the musical puppets on the street, walk past them, stand still for a moment and walk on again.
Bart started the puppet theater “de Zwerfkast” when he and his girlfriend and little daughter took a trip to Portugal with a tractor and trailer. To support themselves, he and his girlfriend started a puppet theater. With it they played on the streets and in schools. After this trip, which lasted 3 years, he founded the puppet theater Karkast. With this he has been providing musical performances on the streets, at fairs, children’s parties and other events for over 30 years. He also creates theater performances that he performs in schools. With his trumpet player carved from wood from the Picos de l’Europa, his crazy accordion-playing frog and many other homemade puppets in beautifully painted sets, he manages to create a cheerful atmosphere on the streets. Even Paul Mc Cartney and Bob Marley come as guests !
This activity is part of the summer activities organized in Earnewâld under the banner “Eltse snein wat by d’ein!”. Every Sunday afternoon from May through September, the middle class and local associations organize an activity that takes place in and around the center of Earnewâld.
