Trewyn is a band of five musical friends who have been playing together for over a decade. The group stems from the jazz and blues band Breed Freed, which was the backing band of renowned Fryske poet Tsjêbbe Hettinga for over twenty years.
Trewyn plays mostly golden oldies, blues, folk and world music. They also play smartlap and rock & roll. Trewyn sings in English, Dutch and Frisian and that also provides variety in the repertoire. In short, something for everyone and a guarantee for a pleasant and varied performance for young and old.
Trewyn consists of: Menno Samplonius (guitar and vocals), Gosse Scherstra (solo guitar, harmonica and vocals), Dennis Dooren (double bass), Max van der Velde (percussion) and Pier van der Sluis (keyboard and Hammond organ).
This activity is part of the summer activities organized in Earnewâld under the banner “Eltse snein wat by d’ein!”. Every Sunday afternoon from May through September, the middle class and local associations organize an activity that takes place in and around the center of Earnewâld.
